1 - minimum 4 bedrooms (at least 3 of the bedrooms on the same floor)
2 - minimum 3 bathrooms (this is a challenge here.....anyone care to guess why?)
3 - maximum 3 floors
4 - state of the art kitchen (that's Agent Lady Boss' specific requirement)
5 - private garden (this is a relatively new requirement, after we visited some friends who have gardens at the back of their houses; with growing-up kids, a near-must have)
6 - built-in wardrobes
7 - double glazed (in case you are wondering, this means all the glasses on windows and/or doors are 2 layers with air in between the layers (this helps maintain liveable temperature inside both in winter and summer.
8 - garage
Based on our rental budget, it's quite a challenge to get this (VERY area dependent too). After a lot of huntings, we have finally found a house that we like.
1 - 5 bedrooms (4 of which on the same floor)
2 - 3 bathrooms (2 ensuite) + 1 WC for visitors
3 - 2 living areas
4 - nice kitchen (close to the requirement) - facing the garden
5 - nice 100 feet garden (with a small patio at the end)
6 - landlord agreed to add built-in wardrobes
7 - double-glazed
8 - a garage
Quite a good match isn't it. However, the tenancy is not yet finalised. Over here the process involvement making an offer to the landlord and then upon agreement, getting the tenancy agreement drafted and signed. We are hoping and targeting for early June check-in, insha-Allah.
We are renting it unfurnished but over here unfurnished generally means white goods such as kitchen appliances (stove, oven, dishwasher and fridge) and washing machine and dyers are included.
Apart from the 'specs' above, the house is newly refurbished and all the fittings and appliances inside are new. Yup, that means new carpet, new kitchen appliances, new washing machine and dryer, newly refurbished bathrooms and accessories.
However, the main attraction for us is the garden. The idea of the kids having some space for them to run around in or kick ball is just splendid. Amongst the kids, there's plan afoot for badminton net, small football goalpost, barbeque sessions and even telematches.
The maintenance and upkeep of the garden will be a challenge though and you will most likely hear more about itin future.
2 views here, from two ends of the garden. Not bad right....
