Most of the times, when one mentions of going to London, the things that got mentioned are around the horrendously expensive things there, expensive food, expensive transportation, expensive accommodation, the 'bad' and gloomy weather, terrible traffic, etcetera.
However, let us warn you of something else; London's water. London's water is 'Hard' water. What that means is your soaps and shampoos will not easily lather and your hairs will be in perpetual gelled-like setting. Sometimes, after washing your face, it feels like you've just smeared it with grease; terrible feeling.
Similarly, pipes and kettles will have lime-scale residuals. Even your tea are not spared. There'll be oily film floating on it in your cups.....it took quite a while to get used to it. Some never do. But then, look at the bright side; there's no longer any need for calcium and magnesium supplement. These came free with the water. No extra charge.
All in all, London's tap water is still safe for drinking. Very safe in fact. Apart from the taste that is and if that's a problem, there are plenty bottled water around.
